USMLE

The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) is a highly regarded three-step examination programme required for medical licensure in the United States. It is essential for both American medical graduates and international medical graduates (IMGs) who wish to practise medicine in the US. The examination evaluates a candidate's ability to apply medical knowledge, concepts, and principles whilst demonstrating fundamental patient-centred skills necessary for safe and effective patient care. The USMLE is jointly sponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). It assesses an examinee's capability to apply foundational medical knowledge to real-world clinical scenarios. The examination ensures that all licensed physicians in the United States meet a consistent, high standard of medical competency, thereby protecting public health and safety.
