SMATEE

The State Medical and Technical Entrance Examination (SMATEE) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Mizoram. This examination serves as a gateway for aspiring medical and technical students from Mizoram who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health sciences. SMATEE 2026 is designed to ensure fair selection of promising candidates for the limited seats allocated to Mizoram State for various higher technical studies courses. Since the state has insufficient facilities for higher technical education within its borders, the examination helps identify meritorious students who can compete for seats in prestigious institutions across India. The exam follows a standardised pattern with questions based on the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination syllabus in science subjects of the Mizoram Board of School Education. The examination is conducted once a year and attracts thousands of students who dream of pursuing careers in healthcare and technical fields. Top participating institutes include medical colleges, dental colleges, nursing colleges, and pharmacy colleges across India that accept SMATEE scores.
