RMAT

The Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by the Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU), Ajmer, on behalf of the Government of Rajasthan. This examination serves as the gateway for admission to various postgraduate management programmes, primarily Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses, offered by government and affiliated institutions across Rajasthan. The RMAT is specifically designed to assess candidates' aptitude in quantitative ability, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and general awareness – skills essential for success in management education. The exam is conducted in offline mode (pen-and-paper based) and carries a total of 200 marks. Top-performing candidates gain admission to prestigious government MBA colleges in Rajasthan, including Government Commerce College Jaipur, Government College Ajmer, Government Dungar College Bikaner, and several other affiliated institutions. The RMAT serves as the primary admission criterion for MBA programmes in government-aided institutions, though some private universities in Rajasthan may also accept RMAT scores alongside other national-level management entrance tests. The examination is particularly significant for candidates seeking quality management education at affordable fees in government institutions within Rajasthan. Unlike national-level exams, RMAT focuses specifically on seats reserved for Rajasthan domicile candidates, ensuring that local students have adequate opportunities to pursue postgraduate management education within their home state. The exam is conducted once a year, typically in the month of May or June, with the entire admission process, including counselling, concluding before the commencement of the academic session.
