The NMIMS Law Aptitude Test, commonly referred to as NLAT, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. The examination serves as the gateway to law programmes offered across NMIMS campuses located in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, and Indore. NMIMS is a deemed-to-be university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and holds a prominent position amongst India's premier private institutions offering legal education. The NMIMS Law Aptitude Test is designed to assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies through sections evaluating logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, legal reasoning, and English proficiency. The computer-based examination follows a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format and is conducted multiple times throughout the year, providing flexibility to candidates in choosing their preferred test date. The exam is structured to identify students who demonstrate strong analytical skills, language proficiency, and critical thinking abilities essential for pursuing a career in law. The examination provides admission to programmes such as BA LLB (Hons.), BBA LLB (Hons.), B.Com LLB (Hons.), B.Sc. LLB (Hons.), LLM, and various integrated law courses.
