NID DAT

The National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test, commonly abbreviated as NID DAT, is a prestigious national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate design programmes. Established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament, NID conducts this examination to identify creative and talented individuals who demonstrate aptitude for design thinking and problem-solving abilities. NID DAT is conducted separately for Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes. The examination evaluates candidates on various parameters including creativity, observation skills, design sensitivity, communication ability, and analytical thinking. The test comprises two stages: the Prelims Test and the Mains (Studio Test), followed by a Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates.
