MP SET

The Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test (MP SET) is a state-level examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department through Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya, Ujjain. This examination serves as the eligibility test for appointment as Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across Madhya Pradesh. The MP SET is recognised as equivalent to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the purpose of recruitment and career advancement in higher education institutions within the state. The Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test is conducted annually to identify candidates who possess the minimum eligibility for appointment as lecturers and Assistant Professors in Madhya Pradesh's state universities and affiliated colleges. The examination assesses candidates' comprehensive knowledge in their chosen subject along with their teaching and research aptitude. The test comprises two papers, with Paper I focusing on general teaching and research aptitude, and Paper II concentrating on subject-specific knowledge. Candidates must qualify in both papers to be declared eligible. The examination covers a wide range of subjects including humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, management, education, physical education, and various professional courses. Successful candidates receive a certificate of eligibility that remains valid throughout their career for appointment as Assistant Professor in government and aided colleges across Madhya Pradesh.
