MAHA TET

The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) is a state-level eligibility examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune (formerly known as Maharashtra State Examination Council). This examination is mandatory for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government and aided schools across Maharashtra for Classes I to VIII. The MAHA TET serves as a qualifying examination that certifies the eligibility of candidates to apply for teaching positions in primary and upper primary classes throughout the state. The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test was introduced following the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE Act), 2009, which mandates that all teachers in schools up to Class VIII must possess a Teacher Eligibility Test certificate.
