KSET

The **Kerala State Eligibility Test (KSET)** is a state-level eligibility examination conducted by the **Kerala State Eligibility Test Cell**, operating under the aegis of the **Government of Kerala**. This examination serves as the qualifying test for determining the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions in universities and colleges across the state of Kerala. KSET follows the guidelines and norms prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for conducting National Eligibility Test (NET) examinations. The examination is conducted once or twice annually, depending on the academic calendar and government notifications. KSET assesses candidates' subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and research capabilities across various disciplines spanning humanities, social sciences, sciences, commerce, and management. The test comprises two papers – Paper I tests teaching and research aptitude whilst Paper II evaluates subject-specific knowledge. Candidates must qualify both papers to be deemed eligible for assistant professorship positions. The Kerala State Eligibility Test is recognised by all universities and colleges affiliated with the Government of Kerala for recruitment to teaching positions.
