JLEE

The Joint Lateral Entry Examination (JLEE) is a state-level entrance test conducted annually by Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU). This examination provides diploma holders with an excellent opportunity to pursue engineering education through lateral entry into the third semester of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes. JLEE serves as a gateway for students who have completed their diploma courses to continue their engineering education at prestigious institutions across Assam. JLEE is designed specifically for diploma holders who wish to gain admission directly into the third semester of B.E./B.Tech programmes in various engineering colleges throughout Assam. The examination evaluates candidates' understanding of fundamental engineering concepts, mathematics, and basic computer science. Through this lateral entry scheme, diploma graduates can save time and directly join the second year of engineering courses, ultimately earning their B.Tech degree. The examination provides admission to leading engineering institutions in Assam, including Assam Engineering College, Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, Bineswar Brahma Engineering College, and Girijinanda Institute of Management and Technology.
