JEE Advanced

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is India's most prestigious national-level engineering entrance examination. This exam serves as the gateway to the country's premier engineering institutions, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JEE Advanced (Joint Entrance Examination Advanced) is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. The exam is designed to test candidates' understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at an advanced level. It is a computer-based test that requires candidates to first qualify JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced. The exam is conducted at the undergraduate level and provides admission to various engineering courses, including B.Tech, B.Arch, and Integrated M.Sc programmes. With approximately 16,000 seats available across all IITs, the competition is extremely intense, making it one of the most challenging entrance examinations in the world. Only candidates who qualify JEE Main and meet specific eligibility criteria can appear for JEE Advanced. The exam follows strict eligibility norms, including age limits, number of attempts, and academic requirements. Indian nationals, OCI cardholders, and foreign nationals can all apply for the examination. The examination is held once a year, typically in May, and consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers are compulsory and test candidates' analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding of scientific principles. Over 250,000 students participate in JEE Advanced annually, all competing for limited seats in prestigious institutions.
