JCECE LE

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination for Lateral Entry (JCECE LE) 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) for admission to the second year of B.Tech programmes in engineering colleges across Jharkhand. This examination provides an excellent opportunity for diploma holders to pursue their engineering degree through lateral entry admission. JCECE LE is specifically designed for candidates who have completed a three-year diploma or a two-year lateral entry diploma in any branch of engineering and technology. The exam serves as a gateway to various prestigious government and private engineering institutions in Jharkhand state. Candidates who qualify for this examination can secure admission directly into the second year (third semester) of B.Tech programmes, thereby saving one year of study. The JCECEB conducts this examination annually in offline mode (pen and paper-based) at designated exam centres across Jharkhand, primarily in Ranchi and Dumka. The exam typically consists of 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks, to be completed within 2 hours and 30 minutes. The examination assesses candidates' knowledge in subjects covered during their diploma studies.
