The Institute of Hotel Management Common Entrance Test, commonly known as IHM CET, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT). This examination serves as the gateway for aspiring hospitality professionals seeking admission to undergraduate hotel management programmes across India. The Institute of Hotel Management Common Entrance Test assesses candidates' aptitude in English language, numerical ability, reasoning and logical deduction, general knowledge, and current affairs. The examination is designed to identify talented individuals with the potential to excel in the dynamic hospitality industry. With a total of 200 marks and 200 multiple-choice questions, the Institute of Hotel Management Common Entrance Test evaluates candidates across various cognitive domains essential for a successful career in hotel management. The test is accepted by premier hospitality institutes across India, including all IHMs (Institutes of Hotel Management) affiliated with NCHMCT, state government IHMs, and several private hotel management colleges. Top participating institutes include IHM Pusa (New Delhi), IHM Mumbai, IHM Chennai, IHM Bengaluru, IHM Kolkata, IHM Ahmedabad, IHM Hyderabad, and numerous other central and state-run institutes. The examination opens doors to the prestigious Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc. HHA) programme, which is a four-year undergraduate degree that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training in various aspects of hotel management, food production, food and beverage service, front office operations, and housekeeping management.
