GUJCET

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), Gandhinagar. This prestigious examination serves as the gateway for students aspiring to secure admission in undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes across various government and private institutions in Gujarat. The examination assesses students' knowledge in core subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for engineering aspirants, whilst pharmacy candidates are tested on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. With approximately 1.2 lakh students appearing for the examination each year, GUJCET has become one of the most competitive state-level entrance tests in India. The exam carries a total of 120 marks and is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test, ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation process for all candidates. Top participating institutes include prestigious colleges such as L.D. Engineering College Ahmedabad, Government Engineering College Gandhinagar, and various other renowned institutions across Gujarat. The examination offers admission to courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), and Diploma in Pharmacy. Recent policy changes have made GUJCET even more significant, as 95% of seats in government colleges are now filled through GUJCET scores, whilst the remaining 5% are allocated based on JEE Main rankings, making it essential for Gujarat domicile students to perform well in this examination.
