GCET

The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa. This examination serves as the primary gateway for admission to various undergraduate engineering and pharmacy courses offered by institutions across Goa. The GCET is designed for candidates who have completed their 10+2 education and wish to pursue technical education in the state's premier institutes. The Goa Common Entrance Test evaluates candidates on their knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) or Biology (for pharmacy courses). The examination is conducted annually and provides access to admissions in government and private engineering colleges, as well as pharmacy institutions within Goa. The test follows a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, making it accessible and efficient for candidates across different locations. Top participating institutes include the Goa College of Engineering (GCE), Goa Engineering College (Farmagudi), Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, and Goa College of Pharmacy. The examination offers admission to B.E./B.Tech programmes in various specialisations including Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication, and B.Pharm courses. The GCET scores are also considered by some private institutions outside Goa for admission purposes, making it a valuable credential for aspiring engineers and pharmacists.
