GAT-B

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology (GAT-B) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. This examination is specifically designed for students aspiring to pursue postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Biotechnology and allied disciplines across India. The exam serves as a gateway to some of the premier institutions offering advanced education and research opportunities in the field of biotechnology. GAT-B is conducted annually and provides admission opportunities to various institutes participating in the centralised counselling process. The examination assesses candidates on their understanding of core biotechnology concepts, general aptitude, and analytical reasoning skills. Top participating institutes include renowned universities and research centres such as the National Institute of Immunology (NII), Delhi; Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi; University of Hyderabad; Banaras Hindu University (BHU); and various other Central Universities and deemed universities across India.
