CUET UG

The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET UG), formerly known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Established in 2022, CUET UG serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate programmes across central universities, state universities, deemed universities, and other participating institutions throughout India. The exam replaced the previous system where central universities conducted their own entrance tests, creating a unified platform that enables candidates to apply to multiple universities through a single examination. CUET UG is designed to assess candidates' knowledge in domain-specific subjects, general test, and languages. The examination is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts, with questions presented in multiple-choice format. The total marks vary depending on the subjects chosen by the candidate, with each subject carrying 200 marks. The exam enables admissions to prestigious institutions including Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), and numerous other central and participating universities. Through CUET UG, candidates can secure admission to a diverse range of undergraduate courses including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), integrated programmes, and various professional courses. The examination has revolutionised the undergraduate admission landscape in India by providing a standardised assessment mechanism that emphasises conceptual understanding and application-based learning rather than rote memorisation.
