The Common Law Admission Test for Postgraduate (CLAT PG) is a prestigious national-level entrance examination conducted annually by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). This exam serves as the primary gateway for admission to postgraduate law programmes, specifically the two-year LL.M. (Master of Laws) courses offered by participating National Law Universities across India. CLAT PG is designed to assess candidates' proficiency in constitutional law, jurisprudence, and other core legal subjects, making it one of the most competitive law entrance examinations in the country. The examination is conducted by one of the 22 National Law Universities on a rotational basis, with the responsibility shifting each academic year. The exam is conducted in online mode (computer-based test) at designated centres across India, ensuring accessibility to candidates from all states and union territories. The total marks for the examination is 120, with each question carrying equal weightage.
