ADAT

The ADAT is a postgraduate-level examination designed for dental students and licensed dentists pursuing advanced training in various dental specialities. The exam provides advanced dental education programmes with a reliable means to evaluate candidates' knowledge, skills, and readiness for specialised training. Courses accessible through ADAT scores include Endodontics, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, General Practice Residency, and other advanced dental specialities. Approximately 23 programmes require the ADAT, whilst over 300 programmes accept but do not require the examination. The common eligibility criteria include being a dental student in good standing at a CODA or CDAC-accredited institution, or being a licensed dentist actively applying to advanced dental education programmes. Over 300 participating institutions across the United States and Canada utilise ADAT scores in their admission processes.
