Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basar (RGUKT Basar) was established in 2008 as one of the pioneering institutions under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) system in Telangana. Located in Basar, Nirmal District, Telangana, this Public State University was created with a visionary objective to provide high-quality technical education to the rural youth of Telangana. The university operates under the RGUKT Act 2008 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). RGUKT Basar has earned recognition as Rank 101-150, NIRF Engineering 2025, establishing itself as a significant technical institution in the region. The university follows an innovative six-year integrated programme model, admitting students after Class 10 for a two-year Pre-University Course (PUC) followed by a four-year Bachelor of Technology degree. This unique educational model aims to nurture talent from rural areas and transform them into skilled engineers and technology professionals. The institution offers specialized programmes across various engineering disciplines including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil Engineering at the Undergraduate level. Additionally, the university provides Postgraduate programmes including M.Tech specializations and PhD programmes in various engineering and science disciplines. Admissions to Undergraduate programmes are conducted through the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET), while Postgraduate admissions are based on GATE scores and institutional entrance examinations.
