National Institute of Technology Delhi

National Institute of Technology Delhi, popularly known as NIT Delhi, is a public autonomous technical institute established in 2010 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Recognised as an Institute of National Importance under the NIT Act, the institute is approved by AICTE and functions as one of India’s premier National Institutes of Technology.

In the NIRF 2025 Rankings, NIT Delhi secured the 65th position in the Engineering category and was placed in the 101–150 rank band in the Overall category. Internationally, the institute was ranked in the 1201–1500 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, along with subject rankings in Engineering and Computer Science.

NIT Delhi offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, computer applications, and research disciplines. The institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and PhD programmes across specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, VLSI Design and Technology, Manufacturing and Automation, Mathematics & Computing, and more.

Admission to the B.Tech programme is based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling, while M.Tech admissions are conducted through GATE and CCMT counselling. MCA admissions are offered through NIMCET, and PhD admissions are based on institute-level selection processes and national-level exams such as GATE/NET.
