National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh

National Institute of Design Andhra Pradesh, popularly known as NID AP or NID Vijayawada, is an autonomous public design institute established in 2015 under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, the institute is recognised as an Institute of National Importance under the National Institute of Design Act, 2014. NID Andhra Pradesh is part of the prestigious NID network and is known for offering quality education in design, innovation, and creative problem-solving.

NID AP currently offers undergraduate Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes with specialisations in three major disciplines: Industrial Design, Communication Design, and Textile and Apparel Design. Admissions to the BDes programme are conducted through the national-level NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which includes DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The institute follows a rigorous studio-based learning approach that combines creativity, technology, culture, and industry exposure to prepare students for professional careers in design.
