Mangalore University, Mangalore was established in 1980 under the Karnataka State Universities Act to cater to the higher education needs of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu districts of Karnataka. The university is located in Mangalagangothri, approximately 20 kilometres from Mangalore city, spread across a sprawling campus. As a Public State university, Mangalore University, Mangalore has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade.
