Jamia Millia Islamia University, established in 1920 during the Khilafat and Non-Cooperation Movement, is a prestigious Central University located in New Delhi. Originally founded in Aligarh, the university shifted to its current campus in Okhla, New Delhi in 1925. Jamia Millia Islamia University holds the distinction of being a Central University under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, granted through the Jamia Millia Islamia Act, 1988.
