Cotton University

Cotton University, established in 1901, is one of the oldest educational institutions in Northeast India, located in Guwahati, Assam. Originally known as Cotton College, it was granted university status in 2017, becoming a State university under the Government of Assam. The university holds a prestigious position in the academic landscape of the region and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. Cotton University has been ranked amongst the top institutions in India, securing notable positions in various ranking frameworks including NIRF 2025.
