Central Sanskrit University

Central Sanskrit University is a premier institution dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and propagation of Sanskrit language and allied traditional knowledge systems. Established in 1970 as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and later elevated to a deemed university status in 2002, it achieved the status of a Central University in 2020 under the Central Sanskrit University Act. The university is spread across multiple campuses with its headquarters located in New Delhi, along with constituent campuses across India including Lucknow, Puri, Agra, Jammu, Shringeri, Jaipur, and Guruvayur. Central Sanskrit University operates as a Central institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and holds recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade. Central Sanskrit University offers a comprehensive range of academic programmes spanning across Diploma, Certificate, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil., and PhD levels in various disciplines of Sanskrit, Vedas, Jyotirvigyan, Veda-Vedanga, Sahitya, Vyakarana, Darshan, Dharmashastra, Adhunik Vigyan, Prachya Evam Paschyatya Darshan, and modern subjects integrated with Sanskrit.
